Arts and Entertainment

For arts and crafts enthusiasts, Lancaster Town Square hosts 2nd Saturday on The Square every month. There are between 20 and 40 arts and crafts vendors, live music, and special events including a community cook-off, bike ride, citywide garage sale, Back to School Parade, and Christmas on the Square. The first Saturday in December is our annual Lancaster Christmas Parade.

Lancaster is fortunate to have Cedar Valley College in the community. In addition to the art exhibits displayed periodically, the college provides live theater, producing four plays and/or musicals each year. They also have a well-known jazz band that performs frequently. Cedar Valley College also plays host to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra once a year.

Lancaster has the D/FW Wing of the Commemorative Air Force Museum located at the north end of the Lancaster Municipal Airport. The same drive takes you to the Strain Farmstead, Lancaster’s oldest working farm, which gives occasional tours. There are many other houses built in the late 1800s that make this an enjoyable Historic Home Driving Tour.
